Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival is a rock and metal festival held at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. The reformatory is a National Historic Landmark with a long and complex history and served as the primary filming location for the 1994 film The Shawshank Redemption. The prison remains an active historic site, and the setting plays a central role in the festival experience.
Launched in 2018, Inkcarceration debuted with headliners Rise Against, Bush, and Black Label Society. In 2021, Danny Wimmer Presents joined as a partner, helping guide the festival into its next phase of growth. In its most recent year, Inkcarceration welcomed more than 90000 attendees across three days. Over the years, the festival has hosted some of the most influential names in rock and metal, including Slipknot, Korn, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, Pantera, Shinedown, Godsmack, and Five Finger Death Punch.
